About this experience

Live an unforgettable experience in the heart of Southern Patagonia , combining sailing, gastronomy and hiking in some of the most impressive natural settings of Los Glaciares National Park.

The day begins in El Calafate , where we depart from your hotel by bus to Bahía Túnel, located on the shores of Lake Viedma , very close to the town of El Chaltén . During the journey, passengers can enjoy panoramic views of the Patagonian steppe and the hills that herald the approach to the Andes Mountains.

At the Bahía Túnel Port, we'll board the boat for a journey across Lake Viedma , one of the most comprehensive experiences the destination offers. During the trip, the boat travels past icebergs calved from the glacier and gets up close to its imposing ice walls.

During the tour we will take a short walk to Cabo de los Hornos Bay , a panoramic viewpoint that offers a privileged view of the glacier and the lake, ideal for taking photographs and enjoying the silence of the surroundings.

Back on board, we'll enjoy a lunch box served during the cruise, accompanied by breathtaking views of the Viedma Glacier , the largest in Los Glaciares National Park . This experience combines adventure with comfort, allowing you to appreciate the grandeur of the landscape in a relaxed and unique setting.

RESOLVE YOUR DOUBTS

FAQ

Where do the sailings depart from?
The All Glaciers Navigation departs from Punta Bandera Port, 47 km from El Calafate. The Viedma Adventure departs from Bahía Túnel Port, 18 km from El Chaltén. The Viedma Full Day Adventure includes bus transportation from El Calafate.
Do I need to buy a ticket to Los Glaciares National Park?
Yes. Entrance to the National Park is not included in any of the tours and must be purchased separately. You can buy it online in advance at pnlosglaciares.ar to avoid queues on the day of sailing.
What clothes and items should I bring?
Pack warm layers of clothing, a windproof and waterproof jacket, comfortable closed-toe shoes, a hat, gloves, sunglasses, and sunscreen. The Patagonian weather is changeable, and it gets cold near the glaciers even in summer. Don't forget your camera: there are outdoor covers available for photography.
Are the excursions suitable for children and people with reduced mobility?
Yes, these are family-friendly experiences, and there is no minimum age for any of the cruises. Children receive a reduced rate: on the All Glaciers cruise, ages 6 to 16 pay $264.000 and ages 0 to 5 travel free; on the Viedma Adventure cruise, ages 3 to 12 pay $87.500 and ages 0 to 2 travel free; on the Viedma Adventure Full Day cruise, ages 3 to 12 pay $207.500 and ages 0 to 2 travel free. The All Glaciers cruise is 100% accessible: the boat has a lift, level ramps, and accessible restrooms, as does the Spegazzini Refuge. The Viedma Adventures cruises are of low difficulty—including a gentle hike to the Iceberg Bay viewpoint—although they are not 100% accessible.
What happens if the sailing trip is cancelled due to bad weather?
Navigation is not suspended due to bad weather. In the event of any extraordinary circumstances, the situation will be assessed accordingly.
Is it possible to eat on board?
Yes. The boats have a cafeteria on board. On the Todo Glaciares tour, you can add the optional regional menu (classic, gluten-free, or vegetarian) and the Captain's Club with food and drinks included. On the Aventuras Viedma tour, the onboard snack is included (premium sandwich, mineral water, and a brownie from El Chaltén).
How long does the Viedma Adventure last?
4 hours, from 10:30 to 14:30, from Bahía Túnel Port (18 km from El Chaltén). The Full Day version from El Calafate lasts 12 hours in total (7:30 to 19:30), with transportation included.
When does the Viedma Adventure operate?
Daily departures from September to April. From May to August, every other day plus Saturdays.
What is the difference between Aventura Viedma and Aventura Viedma Full Day?
The journey is the same: a 4-hour trip across Lake Viedma to the Viedma Glacier, with a hike to the Iceberg Bay viewpoint. The difference lies in the departure point: Aventura Viedma is for those already in El Chaltén (starting at $175.000), while Full Day includes round-trip bus transportation from El Calafate (starting at $295.000) and a visit to Parador La Leona, a visit to El Chaltén, and the Chorrillo del Salto trek. Both include snacks on board.
