SPEGAZZINI EVENT LA NACION

A Day with Special Guests

On December 16, 2024, as part of Solo Patagonia Day , the new walkways and the De Agostini Lookout were inaugurated in Los Glaciares National Park , offering visitors a unique experience with breathtaking views of the Spegazzini Glacier.

The event, organized by Solo Patagonia , was attended by national, provincial, and municipal authorities, as well as clients, colleagues, and the company's team. The day's events were hosted by former soccer player and television presenter Sergio Goycochea, who, along with renowned travel influencers, broadcast the activities live, allowing a wider audience to enjoy this historic occasion.

Walkways and Viewpoint: An Unforgettable Experience

The new walkways, stretching 350 meters along the shores of Lake Argentino, culminate at the De Agostini Lookout, named after the priest and explorer Alberto De Agostini, renowned for his contributions to the knowledge of Patagonia. This lookout offers an exceptional view of the Spegazzini Glacier, the tallest in the park, rising to a height of up to 135 meters above the lake.

Sustainable Infrastructure Serving Tourism

The construction of this infrastructure was completed in just a few months by Solo Patagonia, in a public-private partnership aimed at enhancing the visitor experience and promoting sustainable tourism in the region. The design of the walkways and viewpoint adhered to high environmental standards, utilizing durable, low-impact materials to ensure the protection of the natural environment.

Public-Private Collaboration: Key to Success

During the ceremony, the importance of this project as a model of collaboration between the public and private sectors was highlighted. The president of the National Parks Administration, Cristian Larsen , and the head of Solo Patagonia, Leonardo Fernández Campbell , emphasized the positive impact of this initiative on the sustainable development of tourism in the region.

The Spegazzini Refuge: A Space for Rest and Contemplation

In addition to the inauguration of the walkways and the viewpoint, the Spegazzini Refuge was officially opened. Although built before the pandemic in 2019, it had not yet had a formal inauguration. The refuge offers visitors a place to rest and find shelter amidst the majestic Patagonian landscape.

Acknowledgments and Commitment to the Legacy

The day concluded with heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this project possible, including those who are part of the Solo Patagonia legacy and who, although no longer with us, continue to inspire the company's spirit. The event left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who attended, reinforcing Solo Patagonia's commitment to promoting responsible tourism and preserving the region's natural treasures.

El Calafate, Destination of Excellence

With the inauguration of these new infrastructures, El Calafate reinforces its position as a premier destination in Patagonia , offering national and international tourists unforgettable experiences in direct contact with nature. The addition of these walkways and the viewpoint not only improves accessibility and safety for visitors, but also promotes a respectful and sustainable interaction with the environment, aligning with global trends in sustainable tourism.
